I've always had such a love for garments; from jackets to handbags, dresses to jeans. With the number of trends rising rapidly and fast fashion companies pushing out vast amounts of clothes, fashion is no longer sustainable. Both the planet and the workers who make these clothes for such a low price point are suffering from this mass consumption. Don't get me wrong, I love the occasional purchase from a fast fashion company. However, there are times these purchases already exist in some form in your wardrobe. That old brown leather skirt you never wear? the perfect fabric for your new mini handbag. Purchasing items made from reworked fabric, or upcycling your own garments may seem like a small task but they have a significant impact on the way clothing affects the planet.
